BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Vikings Track and Field Squad hit the road today to take on the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker with a small group of competitors.

Although having a small group at the meet, Berry faced off against some top opponents from all divisions and paced new school records!

Head Coach Luke Syverson is "Very happy overall with the results from today. The team either came away with competitive times or marks to give us a good feel on what we need to work on before the rest of the season beginning in January."

Some general highlights from the meet include:
New Indoor School Records:
Lucy Nicholson in the 60m - 8.15
Tucker Wright in the 3000m - 8:21.67
Macy Murdock in the 400m - 59.75

Women's Highlights:
-The women's 3000m was a huge event for the Vikings with big lifetime personal records for Anna Rose (who placed second in the event with a time of 10:14.46), Kaitlyn Frankman (11:48.91), and Sydney Howard (11:27.81).
-In the 60m all three women ran new lifetime personal records as well with Lucy Nicholson leading the way in her record time of 8.15 and Julia Shipes (8.32) along with Marissa Green (8.46) following.
-In the field, the women vaulters had good efforts with Emilee Easley jumping a new lifetime PR (3.10m) and both Ella Pine and Madeline Hubbert making attempts at what would have been new school records.
-Kris Williams led the way in the High Jump, placing tenth overall (1.55m).
-Macy Murdock placed fourth overall in the 400m, running a new indoor school record (59.75).

Men's Highlights:
-Sophomore Tucker Wright continues his standout cross country season into the indoor track season with a new indoor school record in the 3000m, placing second overall with a time of 8:21.67.
-All-American, Jahari Jones took 16th in the 200m, the only Vikings to compete in this event (22.38).
-Ethan Smith, Brooks Johnson, and Nico Klementzos had PR's in the 300m with times of 8:36.65, 8:57.52, and 9:39.36 (Smith placing a high 7th place).
-In the shot put, Mason Robinson took 10th with a throw of 14.26m.
