ATLANTA, Ga. - The Berry College men's and women's track and field team continued their season at the Emory Twilight Qualifier as several Vikings continue their quest to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Men:
Freshman
Bryce Toomer broke his own school record and PR'd in the Discus with a throw of 47.96 meters.
Sophomore
Corbin Dutcher ran a lifetime PR of 11.18 seconds in the 100 meters.
Freshman
Braylon Kirkpatrick closed out the season with a season's best 50.68 in the 400 meters.Â
Berekey Powell placed 5th in the 400 meters with a 48.92.Â
Andy Forsyth and T Harris both ran lifetime PR's in the 800 meters with a 1:52.91 and a 1:55.34 respectively.
Sophomore Clay Robinson placed third in the Javelin with a throw of 54.13 meters.
Women:
Sophomore
Sophia Hughes threw a season PR in the Discus with a toss of 34.68 meters.
Junior
Onoyeme Egure threw a lifetime PR of 46.78 meters in the Hammer Throw. She also finished second in the Shot Put with a throw of 12.95 meters.
Macy Murdock lowered her season best time in the 400 Hurdles to a time of 1:02.05 to win the event.
Ayla Husby finished second in the Javelin with a throw of 36.32 meters.
Kris Williams won the High Jump with a jump of 1.53 meters while
Julia Shipes finished third with a jump of 1.48 meters.
The Vikings will have one last chance for individuals to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships as they travel to Rock Island, IL from May 13-14 to compete in the Augustana Twilight Last Chance meet.
