Outdoor Track & Field Ready to Host SAA Championships

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Berry College men's and women's outdoor track & field team is ready to host the 2026 SAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships as they look improve upon their third place finishes at the SAA Indoor Championships earlier in the season.

The last time the Vikings hosted was in 2022 and that would see the start of the men taking home three straight SAA Championships. Centre are the defending SAA Outdoor Champions while Trinity who are competing for the first time won the SAA Indoor Championships earlier in the year. This will also be the first year that Southwestern is competing in the SAA.

The meet will begin on Friday morning at 8:30 am at Valhalla, Williams Field, Clark Track & Dickey Field with the 10,000 meter run. Live results will be available on milesplit. Live stream will be available here. For more info including meet program click here.

General Admission is $10. Seniors and Children under 12 are $5. SAA students/staff/faculty with ID are free

On the women's side athletes to watch include Macy Murdock who finished 2nd in the 400 meters in indoor. She enters the meet with the top seed time in the 400 Meter Hurdles (1:02.09) and top throw in the Javelin (39.02 meters). 

Malysha Winston is the current SAA leader and school record holder in the Hammer Throw entering with a mark of 49.32 meters.

Kris Williams and Julia Shipes are ones to watch in the High Jump entering the meet with the 4th and 5th best seeds at 1.57 meters.

Onoyeme Egure returns to the track after becoming the Vikings first All-American with an eighth place finish in the Shot Put at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She enters the outdoor event with the longest throw in the conference at 13.79 meters.

The Vikings also look strong in the Pole Vault with Laney Ray and Ella Pine entering the competition ranked 3rd and 5th in the SAA with marks of 3.45 meters and 3.37 meters.

On the men's side Dawson Livingston enters the Hammer Throw leading the SAA with a mark of 54.19 meters and will go for his fourth title in a row as he has never lost this event at conference.

Andrew Popp is the defending champion in the Pole Vault at indoor and enters the outdoor competition leading the SAA with a mark of 4.52 meters.

Clay Robinson is a top contender in the Javelin as he enters with the number two mark in the SAA with a throw of 56.24 meters.

Berkey Powell enters the 400 Meter Dash ranked number two in the SAA with a time of 48.38 which also leads the 4x400 Relay which leads the SAA by two seconds with a time of 3:18.44.

Bryce Toomer is also one to watch in the Hammer Throw and the Discus as he enters the Discus with the 4th best throw of 47.42 meters and the 8th best hammer throw with a distance of 45.28 meters.
