Kennesaw, Ga. (January 16, 2021) -- The Berry College women's basketball team fell to Kennesaw State University on Saturday to open the 2020-21 season.
Senior Jana Morning led the team in scoring with seven points while Capri Frazier tallied six points and Madeline Sandman added five points. As a team, the Vikings shot 25.5% (14-55) from the field and 85.7% (6-7) from the free-throw line. Kennesaw State capitalized on 31 Berry turnovers, scoring 28 points off the giveaways.
Berry trailed Kennesaw State 16-8 at the conclusion of the first quarter and 37-11 at halftime. The Owls continued their momentum in the second half as they outscored the Vikings 49-25.
Berry will begin conference play next weekend as they travel to Jackson, Mississippi to take on Millsaps College on Saturday and Sunday.
