Women's Basketball Welcomes Seven to the 2026-27 Roster

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Head coach Thomas Johnson welcomes seven fresh faces to the 2026-27 roster.
 
Nickyia Daniel
Nickyia is a native of Loganville, Georgia and joins the program after two years at Young Harris College. Prior to that, she graduated from Hebron Christian Academy. Nickyia will be majoring in biology and chose Berry because of the great community on campus. Her biggest sports influence is LeBron James, and she enjoys outside activities in her free time.
 
Faith Van Ness
Faith is from Barrington, Rhode Island and the daughter of Pamela and Craig Van Ness. She graduated from Barrington High School, achieving high honors and being named an AP Scholar with Honor. As a member of the basketball team, she was a two-time all-division guard, a Rhode Island state champion, and received an all-academic award. Faith will be majoring in political science, and chose Berry because of the strong community, beautiful campus, and the belief the college will help her grow academically and personally. Her biggest sports influence his her dad, and she enjoys shopping, listening to music, and hanging out with friends in her free time.
 
Lauren Hemmer
Lauren is from Gainesville, Georgia and the daughter of Beth and Lee Hemmer. She graduated from North Hall High School as a member of the beta club and National Honors Society. On the court, she was a two-time first team all-region guard, a two-time all-star, a Lanier All-Tournament Team member, and the North Hall Offensive Player of the Year. Lauren will be majoring in nursing, and she chose Berry because of the beautiful campus and the people making it feel like home. 
 
Kayden Reyes
Kayden is a native of Bryant, Alabama and the daughter of Shana and Adam Reyes. She graduated from North Sand Mountain High School, excelling in the classroom and on the court. She was named to the Jackson Country Tournament Team five times, the Sand Mountain Tournament Team four times, and given the title of Jackson County MVP twice. Academically, she was a member of Senior BETA, Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta, and ranked in the top five in her class. Kayden chose Berry because she loved the environment, campus, and strong sense of community that surrounds the basketball team. Her biggest sports influence is Caitlin Clark, and she enjoys swimming, basketball, fishing, shopping, and hanging out with friends and family in her free time.
 
Anna Claire Caverly
Anna Claire is a native of Hendersonville, Tennessee and the daughter of Thyra and Shannon Caverly. She graduated from Davidson Academy as a Chaney Scholar and member of the beta club and National Honors Society. For the basketball team, she was the team captain, all-state, all-district, and all-tournament power forward and center. She will be majoring in exercise science and chose Berry because of the academic opportunities. In her spare time, she enjoys playing pickleball.
 
Caroline Young
Caroline is from Alpharetta, Georgia and the daughter of Peyton and Brian Young. She graduated from Milton High School as an honor roll student and National Honors Society member. On the basketball team, she was an all-region and all-state athlete three times, a Georgia McDonald's All-American nominee, and a top 20 player in the state during her senior year. Caroline will be majoring in business, and she chose Berry because of the great team culture, great medical program, and beautiful campus. Her biggest sports influence is Kobe Bryant, and she enjoys exercising, scrapbooking, and cleaning in her free time.
 
Corrin Sevier
Corrin is a native of Lilburn, Georgia and graduated from Parkview High School as an honors student, player of the month, and a first team all-region point guard. She will be majoring in marketing and minoring in communications, and she chose Berry because of the basketball team, coaching staff, and strong academics. Her biggest sports influence is Rori Harmon, and she enjoys listening to music, eating, and hanging out with friends and family in her free time.
