MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Head Coach
Richard Vardy has unveiled the 2024 Men's Soccer Schedule.
The 2024 season schedule consists of 18 games, with six being Southern Athletic Association competition toward the later part of the season.
August 20 is the season start against in-state rival Shorter University at 7:00 PM where the Vikings will also open up at home.
The next two games Berry will hit the road, first to Emory University looking to snap a four-game losing streak against the Eagles and then to Maryville, Tennessee, to take on the Scots who they beat a year ago 2-0.
Rounding off the month of August, Berry will take on Hardin-Simmons University at home for the first time before the beginning of September in Texas. Southwestern and Trinity will be the Texan opponents, soon to join the SAA.
A four-game home stint follows the trip with the Vikings taking on Piedmont, Berea, Belhaven, and Covenant, all members of the Collegiate Conference of the South. Against the Lions, Berry has seven wins and one tie overall and has never lost to Berea or Belhaven either. Covenant claims to be the toughest opponent in the home stance.
One more CCS opponent, LaGrange will top off non-conference play on September 22.
The Vikings travel to Sewanee for the first conference matchup of the year. The Tigers finished fourth in the SAA last year, defeating BSC in the opening round of the tournament before falling to Oglethorpe.
Berry will host the Colonels with a record of 5-5-5 overall, one team looks to take the lead in the overall stance.
Hendrix, Rhodes, and Oglethorpe (the reigning SAA Champion) will all be home games this season with the final regular season game against the Stormy Petrels being October 26.
The final road match will be in Jackson, Mississippi, against the familiar Majors of Millsaps College.
