Box Score ROME, Ga. -- Brady Smith's hitting and Trey Rampy's pitching led Berry College to an 11-2 win over Transylvania on Sunday.
The Vikings, which prevented the TU series sweep, improved to 13-4. The Pioneers fell to 4-3.
Smith hit 4-for-5 with a double and had five RBIs in the contest. Slade Dale had three hits and Dusty Tyson collected two for the home club.
The Vikings, which scored five times in the first inning, recorded 14 hits to Transy's 13.
Berry starter Rampy got the win and improved to 3-1 on the season. He pitched six innings, allowed two runs had two strikeouts. William Gibbons pitched two scoreless innings of relief for Berry. JP Chamblee followed and tossed a hitless ninth inning for the Vikes.
Jared Williams was 3-of-5 to lead Transylvania hitters. Kameron Schwartz (0-1) started and took the loss for the Pioneers.
Berry plays LaGrange College on Tuesday at 1 p.m. The neutral site game takes place in Thomasville, Ga.
