ROME, Ga. - The Vikings took on the Rhodes Lynx to close out tournament action in the night cap on Thursday, where they fell by a final score of 12-2.
Things were looking impressive early on for the Vikings as Chase Edmonds started things off with a single to left field. Despite a double play, the Vikings stayed engaged, as a walk from Bridges and a Chance Edmonds single led to an RBI and a run scoring off a Lynx error to make it a 2-0 lead for the Vikings.
The Lynx responded in the bottom of the first with a run of their own to cut the Berry lead to one run. The Viking bats halted in the second inning, as the Lynx tied things up in the bottom and did not look back.
The Lynx went on to score 5 runs in the third, which deterred the Viking's hopes heading into the fourth. The Lynx did not look back, as they created consisten offensive production for a 12-2 defeat of the Vikings.
The Vikings will now face the Trinity Tigers (TX) at 1:15 PM tomorrow at AdventHealth Stadium in a win or go home scenario.
