Baseball Now 10-0 after Sweep of Fontbonne

ROME, Ga. -- Berry College held off Fontbonne University, 5-4, on Saturday at William R. Bowdoin Field. The Vikings earned a three-game sweep of the Griffins, and improved to 10-0 for the season.

Trey Rampy improved to 2-0 after throwing seven innings and getting the win. He allowed two hits, struck out four batters and had no walks. JP Chamblee tossed the final two outs and earned his first save of the season.

The Vikes held a 2-0 lead before plating three runs in the seventh inning. Devin Skelton collected two of Berry's six hits in the contest. Alfred Francis went 1-for-2 with a run and one RBI. Grant Perkins was 1-of-1 with one run batted in.

BC held a 5-0 lead heading to the bottom of the ninth inning. The Griffins, however, tallied four times before Chamblee entered and shut the door.

Devin Tolan and Ethan Borrowman each had two hits for Fontbonne (0-3).

The Vikings are scheduled to host Covenant College on Tuesday.
