MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Eight different players contributed offensively, but the Berry College women's basketball team fell to Rhodes College, 60-41, on Sunday afternoon.

The loss was the fifth in a row for the Vikes, dropping them to 7-10 overall and 1-5 in the Southern Athletic Association. The win improved the Lynx to 9-8 and 3-3.

Megan Casey and Zarriah Pierce led the BC offense with nine points apiece.

Casey was 4-of-9 shooting and collected a team-high seven rebounds in the win. Pierce sank one three-pointer, was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line, and added two steals in the loss.

Emma Cook scored eight points for Berry, shooting 3-of-11 from the field and sinking two three-pointers.

Imani Smith added to the defensive effort, grabbing six rebounds and two blocks on the afternoon.

"We moved the ball and set up multiple open shots in the paint and on the perimeter," said Berry Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "It's unfortunate that we shot the ball so poorly today. We will continue to work on both ends of the court, and there's still a long way to go in conference play."

The Lynx maintained their lead the whole game and were ahead, 31-14, at the half.

For Rhodes, Catherine Eckert scored 16 points. Eckert was 6-of-13 shooting. She sank two three-pointers, was a perfect 2-for-2 from the free throw line, and added two steals in the win.

The Lynx shot 34.9-percent (22-of-63) to the Vikings' 25-percent (13-of-52). They also led the game in rebounds (50-34) and assists (15-9).

Berry will take on Centre College--Friday, January 29--in their next SAA match-up. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at the Cage Center.
