CONWAY, Ark. -- Despite Emma Cook's game-high 23 points, the Berry College women's basketball team fell to Hendrix College, 83-63, on Friday night.
The Vikings dropped its fourth straight game and fell to 7-9 overall and 1-4 in SAA play. The Warriors improved to 13-3 overall, and 4-1 in conference play.
Cook was 9-of-13 from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Megan Casey also had a strong night, netting 12 points and nine rebounds for Berry.
For Hendrix, Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler and Sara Dyslin each had 22 and 21 points respectively.
The Vikings kept the game close for three quarters until the Warriors pulled away. HC outscored the Vikings 23-7 in the fourth quarter.
Berry shot 42.9-percent (24-of-56) to the Warriors' 40.3-percent (29-of-72).
Hendrix led the game in rebounds (44-34) and steals (7-4). The Vikes passed 15 assists to the Warriors' 12, but Hendrix forced 17 BC turnovers to their eight.
"We played better on the offensive end of the court tonight," said BC Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "We had great energy, and accomplished our goal of winning the third quarter. The game was well within our reach. However, we didn't play smart, and we didn't execute in the fourth quarter. Hendrix took advantage of our mistakes. We will continue to move forward, and get ready for Rhodes."
The Vikings continue their road trip on Sunday. They take on Rhodes College at 2 p.m.
