MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Berry's baseball team lost on the road, 9-1, against Huntingdon on Saturday afternoon. Stephen Gaylor reached base three times and stole two bags.
Berry dropped to 13-16 overall. Huntingdon improved to 18-9.
Levi Austin (0-3) started on the mound for Berry and gave up a first-inning home run to Joseph Odom, a two-run shot. Austin finished with five innings pitched, five runs allowed (all earned) and seven strikeouts. Huntingdon's Gavin Free (4-4) went eight innings, gave up one run and struck out four.
Seth Currie led Huntingdon with three hits and four RBIs, and Odom had two hits and drove in three.
The Vikings and Hawks will complete the three-game series on Sunday afternoon. First pitch will be 2 p.m.
