Box Score ROME, Ga. -- Freshman Emma Cook scored a career-best 23 points as Berry College cruised to an 89-44 win over Wesleyan (Ga.) on Monday night. Cook was 9-16 from the field and led five BC players who scored in double figures.
Chanlir Segarra added 12 points and set a program-record with 16 assists in the contest. The Vikings improved to 5-5 and Wesleyan fell to 1-7.
"We played disciplined and at a high-level tonight," said Berry Head Coach Stephanie Dunn. "We shared the ball and made shots. We worked hard this week on specific aspects of our game and I saw evidence of the work tonight. Chanlir had a big impact with her ability to distribute the ball the open person. It was overall a good game for us."
Berry went on an 8-0 run to start the game and never looked back. BC led 52-13 at the break. For the game, the home club shot 52-percent (32-58) to WC's 28-percent (17-60). The Vikes made 10 3-pointers to one for the visitors.
BC led in rebounding, 41-29. Berry's Megan Walsh had 1 points and grabbed a game-best nine boards for Berry.
Eight of the nine Vikings who played scored in the game. Maggie Trimble contributed 12, and freshman Taylor Johnson added 10 for the victorious Vikes.
Jasmine Davis tallied 15 points to lead Wesleyan.
The Vikings next play at Rhodes on Jan. 10.
