Track 2014: CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District...Berry Co-Male Athlete of the Year...First Team All-SAA in the 5000m...Named to the SAA Spring 2014 Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll...Team Captain...competed in nine meets, and set one personal record...held the top team times in the 5000m and the 10000m...finished 52nd in the 10000m at the Raleigh Relays (3/29) at N.C. State University with a personal record time of 31:21...finished first in the 10000m at the SAA Track and Field Championships (4/25), clocking in at 32:14 and earning First Team All-SAA honors...finished 13th in the 10000m at the Dr. Keeler Invitational (5/8), at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois with a time of 33:37.

Pre-Nationals meet (10/5) clocking in at 25:50.02...led the team to a fifth place finish at the Berry Invitational (10/19), posting a time of 25:37.60 placing third...finished second at the 2013 SAA Cross Country Championships (11/2), posting a time of 25:35.85 earning First Team All-SAA Honors, while leading the team to a second place finish...helped the men's team finish sixth out 24 teams at the South/Southeast Cross Country Regional Meet (11/16), posting a time of 24:56.18 finishing third, while qualifying for NCAA Nationals...finished 56th at the NCAA Championships (11/23) posting a time of 25:36.60...finished second in the Rome 30K (12/7), clocking in at 1:43:56.

Track 2013: First Team All-Conference in the 5000m and the 10000m. SAA Sportsmanship Team. Competed in six meets...ran a personal record in the mile with a 4:37.38 finish at the Sewanee Invitational (2/16) to earn first place...finished second in the 1500m at the Emory Invitational (3/23) with a time of 4:07.91...set a PR in the 1500m at the Sewanne Mountain Laurel Invitational with a time of 4:04.97 placing second...won the conference title in 10000m and 5000m at the SAA Track and Field Championships (4/26-27), posting times of 32:40.07 and 15:32.28 respectively...ran a four-second PR in the 5000m at the Duke Twlight Invitational (5/5), posting a time of 15:20.00...named to the spring 2013 SAA Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll. 

Cross Country 2012: First-team All-SAA...made the fall 2012 SAA Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List...team mvp...competed in five races...finished sixth at the Berry/Sewanee Invitational (9/1) with a time of 26:44...placed second at the Viking Cross Country Open (10/13) with a time of 26:27....ended in third at the SAA Cross Country Championships (10/27) with a PR of 25:25...finished 23rd at the Philadelphia half marathon with a PR of 1:10:44.

Track 2012: Set a 5K PR in 15:26 at the Georgia Intercollegiate Invitational at Georgia Tech...recorded a 1500m PR of 4:13 at the Emory Classic...set a 10K PR of 32:21 at the Cumberlands Invitational...won the Saint Jude’s Country Music Marathon in 2:32:47, becoming the youngest runner ever to win a Roc 'n’ Roll series marathon race and the first American ever to win the Country Music Marathon in its 12-year history.

Cross Country 2011: Team mvp...competed in five events...recorded a season best 8K time at the 2011 Southeast Classic in 25:59, placing 19th...won the Viking Open 10K in 33:14...set a 10K PR at the USATF Club Cross Country National Championships in Seattle, Wash., in 32:33.

Track 2011: Set a PR of 9:14.58 in the 3,000m at the Clemson University meet (2/11-2/12)…won the 10,000m Berry Road Race (3/5) in 33:23…set a PR in the 5,000m with a time of 16:10.43 at the Emory Invitational (3/19)…later improved that time to a season best 15:31.81 at the Auburn University meet (4/16), finishing 19th…won the Flying Pig Half-Marathon (5/1) in 1:13:25.

Cross Country 2010: Team mvp...competed in eight events...ran his fastest 8K with a time of 25:50 at the Southeast Classic (10/23)...finished 19th out of 239...finished third at the Viking Open 8K (11/13)...placed seventh out of 28 runners at the Darlington Open 5K (10/2) with a time of 16:51.95….ran the USATF Club XC Nationals 10K (12/11) in 32:51, finishing 185th.

High School: Ran cross country at York High School and Belfast Area High School...captained his team in 2008-2009...named Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference All-Conference 2007-2009 and KVAC All-Academic team...qualified for the New England Championships in 2007-2008...varsity indoor track for four years...served as captain from 2007-2010...varsity outdoor track all four years, captain in 2010...KVAC 4x800 Champions in 2009...KVAC 4x400 Champions in 2010...recipient of Belfast Service Athlete Award for Outstanding Career Contributions to Belfast Athletics...National Honor Society president for the class of 2010...recipient of the St. Michael's College Book Award for Excellence in Academics and Community Service Leadership...Advanced Placement Scholar Award... Personal: Ryan James was born in Newburyport, Ma....the son of Kathleen Berry and Scott James...has three sisters, Casie, Allison and Sarah-Kate...team captain...majoring in history and minoring in economics and German at Berry College.
