Brooke Thompson to make it 5-0.Â
The Vikings would add and give up two runs down the stretch to earn a wire to wire 7-2 victory.
Game Two (Berry 7 - Sewanee 2)
With
Megan Rapillo controlling the circle, the Vikings relied on her arm for the first inning and a half until the Vikings opened the floodgates with an
Elly Bennett two-run homer, which proved to be contagious as the Vikings put together another run to make it 3-0 heading into the third inning.Â
Another empty frame from Rapillo led to a 2-RBI single from
Cara Holland, that made it 5-0 at the end of the third inning. The Vikings added a couple of runs in the fifth to put a bow on it and earn a doubleheader sweep over the Tigers.Â
The Vikings will continue action either tomorrow or Sunday at 12 PM, pending the inclement weather that may hit Mount Berry in the morning hours. Check Berry Vikings Athletics social media pages for updates.
