RALEIGH, NC. – The Berry College men's soccer team ended in a tie with the Methodist Monarchs by a score of 1-1 in a game where the Vikings took an early lead but could not hold the lead on Saturday afternoon at Methodist University.
The Viking offense started the game off early with a goal in the third minute from
Jack Raulston. The rest of the first half consisted of two more shots from the Vikings and two shots from the Monarchs with one save from
Cooper Cherry.
The second half started off with both teams trading shots before the Monarchs tied the game at one with a goal in the 74th minute. The Monarchs ended the game with eight shots compared to the Vikings six. The Vikings could not generate any more scoring in the second half with three shots from El Bey Addofo,
Jack Raulston and Tomothy Ratokhin. Despite the chances, each attempt was either saved or missed wide, keeping them off the scoreboard.
The Vikings continue their road trip in North Carolina, where they will play at Greensboro College on Sunday, September 7 at 12:00 PM.
