MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings men's soccer team have found themselves in a respectable run of wins now taking down the opponents of a decent Huntingdon side. The ability to control the game from the Vikings is something to commend as it helped them overcome yet again another opponent.
It did not take long for the Vikings to find themselves in the lead as
Max Albertson intelligently played the ball into
Jack Raulston's feet at the 7th minute, which led to Raulston firing a rocket into the top right corner of the goal, making this his 4th goal in the last 5 games.
With the rest of the half coming to a bit of a stalemate, it was in minute 43 where Samuel Carlson played a ball into the middle of the box causing some chaos which led to an own goal by the Hawks putting the Vikings at a promising 2-0 lead before the end of the half.Â
With most of the second half going scoreless, it should not be overlooked that our fellow vikings were doing a great job of keeping composure and not letting the Hawks get any chance of breaking through. At the 84th minute, The impactful substitution of
Gavin Nestle assisted
Alex Guzman, scoring his 4th goal in just 3 games. The Vikings then saw the game out securing the win and keeping their streak going and turning it into even more momentum for the following games.
The Vikings return to action against the Maryville Scots on Sunday once again at Bob Pearson Field at 6PM looking to carry their momentum into another victory.
