JACKSON, Miss. - With the Berry Vikings hitting the road to Jackson, Mississippi, to face off against the the Millsaps Majors, they were hungry to make their presence felt within the SAA as they dug out a 3-1 road victory.

 With a strong start, the Vikings neutralized the Majors' tactics of playing a lot of long balls to break through the defense of the Vikings. 

In minute 14, Max Albertson played a ball to Timothy Ratokhin in which he took a shot outside of the box curling it around the keeper to gain the advantage.

Just 5 minutes later in minute 19 was when Parker Pollay found some space on the right flank to whip in a ball across the field to Jack Raulston, where he connected with the ball well with a weak foot volley that found its way into the bottom right corner of the goal putting the vikings in a comfortable place being up by 2 goals and possessing all the momentum moving forward. 

Sticking to their philosophies of the game, the Berry Vikings built up another chance to score a goal and it was Max Albertson who tucked it away to give them even more real estate and comfortability with a 3-0 lead.

While it  seemed that the Vikings wouldn't have anything to worry about moving forward, with about 10 seconds left in the half, a lapse in focus and judgement led to the conversion of a goal in favor of the Majors with Dylan Speaks finding the back of the net. The Vikings would lead 3-1 after the 1st half was done.

The rest of the match was a bit of a stale mate but it was through the defensive efforts of Andy Guzman and Mitch Register that led to the Vikings ability to retain their lead and not falter before the match concluded. The Vikings got their 1st conference victory of the season and gain much needed momentum into their following matches.

The Vikings play at Bob Pearson Field on Monday October, 13 at 6:00 PM against the Piedmont Lions.
