Rhodes no Match for Vikings as they Clinch Two

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry takes the series early with two big defeats over the Lynx of Rhodes College to now be 23-9 overall and 9-5 in the SAA.

Game One Berry 10 - Rhodes 1
Charles Stephenson captured his sixth win on the mound this season for the Vikings in his eight innings pitched, giving up one run with two strikeouts.

The bats were hot for the home squad with 14 total hits on the day starting in the bottom of the first inning when Levi Cloud's double to left scored two for an early 2-0 lead.

Andrew Pendleton one upped Cloud's double in the third with a three run triple to take the lead to 5-0.

A single in the fourth by Nick Brunswick put the team up by seven and still kept the Lynx scoreless with Stephenson on the mound.

The visiting Lynx finally found one run in the sixth, but their solo run was answered with two from the Vikings in the bottom of the inning.

Berry held strong both offensively and defensively in the final innings as they took game one against Rhodes 10-1.

Game Two Berry 13- Rhodes 2
Game two's win was captured by Cole Porter on the mound as he came in relief of Cam Welsh in the second inning.

A six run third inning was very beneficial for the Vikings in the second win today. With a slight advantage at 2-1 heading into the inning, Berry posted five hits to aide their six runs.

All five hits were singles for the Vikings as they just made their way around the bases with two walks aiding in the flow.

Five Vikings posted RBIs of two or more with Andrew Pendleton leading the way with three and a double in the game.

Alex Knapp and Pendleton tied for runs scored with three a piece and Joey Garcia led in hits as he has all season (currently has 58 on the season).

Berry continued to dominate and posted another big inning in the sixth with four runs on four hits, with the Lynx helping out as they had three errors in the inning.

The Vikings will be back in action for the final game of this SAA series tomorrow at 12:00 PM ET.
