MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings were unable to pull off the sweep of the Lynx in today's final SAA series game as they fell to Rhodes 3-1.
Aubrey Moraitakis efforts on the mound were honorable in his five innings pitched, giving up only three hits and one run for the Lynx.
Rhodes run came in the fourth and Berry responded in the bottom of the fifth when
Andrew Pendleton's sacrifice fly brought
Levi Cloud across the plate to tie it at one.
Unfortunately, Rhodes scored two late runs in the eighth inning with
Tyler Cassidy on the mound. A single and an error during the play gave Rhodes the final advantage that Berry would be unable to answer in their final two innings.
At the plate, Cloud was the only Viking with a hit today, after amazing efforts in the prior two games from Berry.Â
The Vikings will be back in action at home this Tuesday against LaGrange College for a quick non-conference refresher at 6:00 PM ET.
