Indoor Track and Field Finishes Second in Inaugural SAA Championship

DANVILLE, Ky. - Both the men and women's indoor track and field team finished second in the first ever Indoor SAA Championship.

The women's second place finish is the highest team finish at an SAA Championship after taking third several times. It is the first time the Men have been runner-ups after winning the SAA outdoor title the last two years in a row.

Head coach Luke Syverson comments on his teams performance, "I'm very happy with the way we competed this weekend.  It is an expectation I have of our program to always be in a position to compete for the conference title and we did that.

The addition of a conference indoor championship helps all of our teams better position our sport and allows another valuable opportunity to compete against our rival SAA schools.

Our Women's team had their best meet ever and continue to get better each time we set foot on the track.  I have no doubt that both of our teams will be in a much better position in April with our Women looking to win their first title and our Men look to make it three in a row."
