MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - In a dominant performance, the Berry Vikings Men's Soccer team triumphed 2-0 over the Hendrix Warriors at Bob Pearson Field.
The victory was fueled by two first-half goals and a solid defensive display.
The Vikings struck early in the 12th minute when
Pirmin Blattmann netted his second goal of the season, assisted by
Jack Raulston. They doubled their lead in the 38th minute when
Lucas Stevenson scored his first goal, set up by
Tracy Moon. Despite a determined effort by the Warriors, Berry's defense, led by goalkeeper
Cooper Cherry, held firm, with Cherry making two crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Hendrix had several opportunities, with 11 total shots, but struggled to break down Berry's defense, which limited them to only two shots on target. On the other end, Berry managed 12 shots, seven of which were on target, forcing Hendrix goalkeeper James Leone into five saves.
The Vikings' defense remained composed despite Hendrix's attempts to come back in the second half, and Berry's possession-based game allowed them to control the flow, ultimately securing the win.Â
