The No. 14-ranked Berry College Volleyball team (6-3) secured back-to-back victories on the road this past Saturday, and took all three wins slated for them at the Colonels Invite. The highlight of the evening was Junior Libero
Kate Whittle's achievement, reaching her 1000th career dig, solidifying her place in Berry College volleyball history.
Game 1: Berry College 3 vs. Otterbein University 0
Berry defeated Otterbein University in the first of their two-game Saturday. The Vikings defeated Otterbein in straight sets (25-16, 25-15, 25-22).
Whittle was a standout performer in this game, tallying an 12 digs, which contributed to the victory and marked her 1000th career dig.
Offensively,
Bella Boston dominated the court with an impressive 12 kills. At the same time, setters
Lindsey MacDiarmid and
Cadence Maxfield orchestrated the offense, recording 18 and 10 assists, respectively.
Game 2: Berry College 3 vs. Denison University 0
In their second game of the day, Berry College continued their winning streak as they faced Denison University. The Vikings demonstrated their versatility, securing a comfortable victory in consecutive sets again, completing the weekend sweep of the Colonels Invite (25-20, 25-21, 25-19).
Once again,
Kate Whittle showcased her defensive prowess, adding 16 more digs to her impressive career. However, on the offensive front,
Jazzy Innis and  Boston pitched in with eight kills, and MacDiarmid and Maxfield continued to impress with 32 combined assists between the two.
The Vikings head to Atlanta this Wednesday, September 20th, where they will start conference play.Â
