Men's Lacrosse Defeats Warriors in SAA Quarters, 10-6

ROME, Ga. -- McKinley Gannon scored three goals as Berry College defeated visiting Hendrix College, 10-6, in a Southern Athletic Association quarterfinal match on Saturday.

The Vikings, which advance to next weekend's SAA final four, improved to 8-8. The Warriors end its season at 6-11.

Jacke Emche was Berry's leading point scorer with four (one goal and three assists). Bailey Martin had two goals and one helper for the home team.

Hendrix led 1-0 after the first quarter. Berry, however, rallied and held a 5-3 lead at halftime. The Vikings never trailed in the second half.

Berry led in shots (37-34) and ground balls (35-21). HC had a slight edge in face-offs, 10-8.

Nick Voso had 15 saves for the Vikings. His counterpart, Joe Takacs, collected 13 stops for Hendrix.

Cody Eckes scored once and dished two assists to lead the Warriors' offense.

Berry will face Centre on Friday at Sewanee.
