Last year's game: Sewanee defeated visiting Berry College, 31-26. The Vikings rallied from a 28-7 lead to pull to 28-26 in the final period. Devante Jones ran for 187 yards on 22 carries and scored twice for the Tigers. For Berry, Chris Lilly had three receiving touchdowns. Sewanee led in total offense, 411-372 yards. Down 31-26, Berry had the ball with 1:53 left. The Vikings picked up a first down before Dale Jackson threw an interception. Jackson was 20-43 with 310 yards passing for three touchdowns in the loss. In the first quarter, BC tied Sewanee's early lead when Jackson connected with Lilly on a 33-yard pass for the touchdown. After Mitchell Blanchard's PAT, the score was tied 7-7. Trailing by 21 points, Berry regained a bit of momentum as Lilly caught his second touchdown pass of the day from Jackson. With Blanchard's extra point, the score was 28-17 going into halftime. BC had the only points in the third quarter on Blanchard's 22-yard field goal making it 28-20. The Vikings opened the fourth quarter with Jackson's third touchdown pass to Lilly to bring the score to, 28-26. Looking to tie it up with a two-point conversion, Jackson tossed a pass that fell incomplete. Callum Wishart made a 28-yard field goal to move the Tigers ahead, 31-26 with two minutes left to play.

Berry Last Week: Dale Jackson threw two touchdown passes to Trey Ciresi--and the Vikings' defense recorded the program's first shutout--as Berry College defeated Rhodes College, 24-0, on Saturday. BC improved to 2-1 and 1-0 in the Southern Athletic Association. The Lynx dropped to 2-1 and 0-1 in the SAA. Ciresi had 114 yards on six receptions for the home team. Jackson passed 12-of-19 for 163 yards. Berry outgained Rhodes in total offense yards, 240-187. The defense pushed its shutout string to 103 minutes and 18 seconds, heading back to the second quarter of last week's LaGrange game. Counting the LaGrange overtime period, no opponent has scored on the Vikings in seven periods. Preston Stewart had four tackles (three solo), three sacks and 3.5 tackles for 23 lost yards. He was named the SAA Player of the Week and to the D3Football.com Team of the Week.

Sewanee Last Week: Behind an outstanding defensive effort, Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Birmingham-Southern defeated the Sewanee football team, 21-3, Saturday, at Battle Field. It was a tough day offensively for Sewanee, as the Tigers were limited to 161 yards of total offense and no touchdowns. After both teams got off to a slow start, Sewanee took an early 3-0 lead when kicker Callum Wishart booted a 25-yard field goal. Wishart's kick capped off a long 14-play, 64-yard drive that took 7:20 off the clock. BSC answered back in a big way. The Panthers scored twice to close the half. BSC opened with a 27-yard touchdown run by tailback Samir Usman. That drive took only 1:52 off the clock after a big pass play by quarterback Austin Martin to Daniel Lopera set up the Usman TD run. The Panthers scored their second touchdown on the Tigers' next possession. BSC's Matthew Byers picked off Sewanee quarterback Cody Daniel and raced 19 yards for the touchdown. BSC added a final touchdown in the third quarter as Martin again found Lopera with a five-yard pass.
