Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. -- Seth Gray scored with 2:40 left in the first overtime period as Centre College defeated Berry College, 13-12, on Saturday.
BC moved to 4-4 and 0-1 in the Southern Athletic Association. CC improved to 3-1 and 1-1 in conference play.
Christian Akers led the Vikings with 3 goals. Maxwell Smerka scored once and dished 2 assists. In a seesaw match, Berry held a 12-10 lead after Akers recorded his team's last goal of the contest.
The Colonels, however, rallied and netted 2 goals in the last 1:49 to force the extra period. Gray had 3 goals in the game.
For the game, Centre led in shots (39-35), ground balls (29-27) and faceoffs (16-13).
Berry plays at Piedmont College on Tuesday afternoon.
