Box Score

ROME, Ga. - Sewanee scored nine of the game's final 10 goals to break open what was a close game and defeat Berry 15-6 at Ford Field Saturday in the final game of the Vikings' inaugural men's lacrosse season.

Sewanee led 5-0 at the end of the first period, but the Vikings would net back-to-back goals from Bryan Byers and Cal Supik in the first two minutes of the second period to pull to within 5-2.  After another Sewanee score made it 6-2, Berry would get to within a goal when Michael Emanuelo scored with 9:08 to go in the second and Byers scored twice in a span of just over a minute, the second of which came with 5:59 left in the half and made the score 6-5.

But Sewanee would hold Berry scorless for the next 24:48, going ahead 10-5 in the process.  Byers scored the Vikings' final goal with 11:11 remaining in the game, but the Tigers closed the contest with five unanswered goals to seal the victory.

Sewanee dominated the faceoffs, winning 19-of-25, and picked up 51 ground balls compared to Berry's 32 to give it an advantage in time of possession.  The Tigers used that time to fire 41 shots, 19 more than the Vikings.

Michael Morris and Pfeifer Carson led Sewanee with three goals apiece.

Berry goalie Jordan Boreman recorded 14 saves.

The Vikings close their first season with a 5-9 overall record.
