Caitlyn Moriarty was named head volleyball coach at Berry College in February 2016 after serving as Berry's assistant coach from 2012-2015. She has accumulated a head coaching career record of 212-56, including a 106-12 record in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA). 
 
Moriarty has been named AVCA South Region Coach of the Year three times in her career and is a four-time SAA Coach of the Year after leading the Vikings to seven SAA  Championships and NCAA Tournament runs. 
 
Moriarty has also been the head coach of Berry's beach volleyball program for each of the program's first two seasons. In 2023, the program reached the championship match of the AVCA Small College National Championships for the first time in program history. 

The 2024 season only added to Moriarty's illustrious career at the helm for Berry. The team made history, winning the SAA Tournament Championship for the fourth year in a row along with three members being named to the All-Tournament Team. Moriarty also produced eight All-SAA performers. Bella Boston earned both All-Region and All-American recognition. The Vikings did not stop there though, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after beating Whitworth in the first round, 3-1. 

In 2023, Moriarty coached yet another NCAA appearance squad who claimed the SAA Championship. The team went 27-6 and undefeated in the conference as they boasted the SAA Offensive and Defensive players of the year along with 17 SAA Honor Roll Student-Athletes.  The team was ranked in the top ten in the AVCA Poll and held three AVCA All-Americans along with Berry College’s first ever SAA Woman of the Year. 
 
The 2022 indoor season saw the Vikings win both the SAA regular season and tournament championships, going 13-1 along the way in SAA regular season play. Moriarty would be named SAA Coach of the Year for the fourth time as Berry finished with an overall record of 25-5, reaching the final 16 of the NCAA Championship. The Vikings finished the 2021 season ranked No. 10 in the country with six AVCA All-Americans and a pair of College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honorees. 
 
The 2021 season was highlighted by earning a No. 7 finish in the final DIII AVCA Top 25 Poll after earning the program's first trip the NCAA Quarterfinals (Elite 8). 
 
In her seven years as head coach, Moriarty has aided the development of 28 All-SAA players, 23 All-Region players, and 21 AVCA All-Americans, including six SAA Players of the Year, five SAA Defensive Players of the Year, and one SAA Newcomer of the Year. Prior to being named Head Coach, Moriarty also won two SAA Championships and earned two bids to the NCAA Tournament while serving as the assistant at Berry. Moriarty’s teams have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award the last seven seasons, with 82 SAA Academic Honor Roll honorees. 
 
Moriarty played at Christopher Newport University (CNU) in Virginia from 2007-10, earning AVCA All-American honors twice. A first team All-Conference and All-South Region selection in each of her final two years as a player, Moriarty was named USA South Conference Player of the Year, Tournament MVP and NCAA South Regional Most Outstanding Player. In her four years at CNU, the Captains had a record of 140-24 (.853). She helped her team to an undefeated USA South Conference four-year record of 72-0. In 2010, she set a program record for the highest single season attack percentage (.417). Moriarty also owns the program record for a career attack percentage (.347), leading to the creation of a program Offensive Player of the Year award in her name. 
 
After graduating from CNU in 2011, Moriarty became an assistant coach at her alma mater in 2011. With Moriarty on the sidelines, CNU recorded a 38-5 overall record on the way to an NCAA Division III national runner-up finish in 2011. That season saw CNU win its fifth straight conference championship, third straight regional championship and make its first ever appearance in the national championship match. 
 
She was a strong student at CNU, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She was her team’s Academic MVP, an NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee and the Female Recipient of the Don Scalf Award, presented to the USA South Conference Student-Athlete of the Year. In May 2014, Moriarty earned her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Berry College. 
 
In 2017 Moriarty was inducted in the Christopher Newport University Athletics Hall of Fame. 
 
Moriarty is a proud member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and earned the AVCA’s Thirty Under 30 Award in 2016. Moriarty is a NCAA D-III Volleyball National Committee member and is the Region VI RAC Chair. She also serves on the AVCA Awards Committee. She has previously served as a voter on the AVCA’s Top 25 Coaches Poll and AVCA Head Coaches committee. 
 
Moriarty lives in Rome with her husband Sean and their three children.
