Biography

2013: Appeared in ten games, including two starts...totaled 135 all-purpose yards...rushed 49 times for 135 yards (2.8) while catching two passes for six yards (3.0)...rushed seven times for 19 yards (2.7) against Mercer (9/21)...ran for a season-high 43 yards on nine rushes versus Hendrix (10/19)...his longest run of the season was for 14 yards against Sewanee (11/9).  

High School: Earned two letters in football and basketball and one in track at Weddington High School in Weddington, N.C....rushed for 1700 yards...team captain...all-conference and offensive MVP as a senior...graduate magna cum laude...active in student government and Young Life.

Personal: Gavin Overton Black was born in Houston, Texas...the son of Michael and Laurie Black and Angela Oakes and Scott Bunting...his father played baseball at The Citadel...has three brothers: Travis, Bryan and Nathan...has two sisters, Melissa and Hunter...majoring in exercise science at Berry.
