Biography

2009-10: SSAC All-Academic Team. Started in all 25 games for the Lady Vikings, averaging 35.9 minutes a game this season...made 70 shots from the field and sunk 22 shots from the three-point line...was 70% from the free throw line making 56 foul shots...made a total of 87 rebounds this year...gave her teammates 82 assists, blocked two opponents' shots, and was quick to make 44 total steals this season...earned 218 points for the team, averaging 8.7 points a game...scored a career-high 18 points against rival Shorter (1/25) and improved her personal best of four 3-pt goals in the same Shorter game...because of her hard work and dedication this season, Compton was honored as a Musco Lighting Champion of Character

2008-09: SSAC All-Tournament Team. Played in 32 games making 10 starts for the Lady Vikings...finished the season with the fifth-most points on the team at 182 for a 5.7 points per-game average...set her career scoring high with 18 points against SPSU (3/6) in the SSAC Tournament...earned a spot on the SSAC All-Tournament Team...second on the tam with 68 total assists, averaging 2.125 assists per-game... established a new career-high with nine assists against Lee (3/6) in the SSAC Championship game...set a career-high with 10 rebounds against Martin Methodist (11/22) and finished with a total of 76 rebounds for the year... finished the season shooting 77.4% from the free-throw line, making 65-of-84 attempts... earned a spot on the SSAC All-Academic Team.

2007-08: Earned a spot on the SSAC All-Freshman. Played in all 34 games for Berry as a freshman making 25 starts...had the fourth-highest scoring average on the team at 6.2 points per-game...second on the team in assists with 82 during the year for an average of 2.4 assists per game, also averaged 2.4 rebounds per-game...set a career-high in scoring with 16 points against Brenau (1/5)...had a career-best seven assists against Columbia (1/12) and set her personal-best with six rebounds against Southern Wesleyan (1/10)...finished the year as a 72.7% free throw shooter making 48-of-66 attempts.

High School: Lettered in basketball and volleyball at Macon County High School in Lafayette, Tenn....for the MCHS basketball team she was named team MVP three times...as a senior she earned all-district honors and was named to the all-district defensive team for the third time in her career...earned her team's hustle, three-point percentage and defensive awards as a senior...named to the all-tournament team at the Nera White Invitational for three years running and also earned a spot on the RBS Christmas Tournament All-Tournament team as a junior...played club basketball for Team Tennessee, Tennessee Gold, Southside Stars and Pride during her career.

Personal: Holly Machelle Compton was in Hendersonville, Tenn....the daughter of Mike and Debbie Compton and has one sister, Chelsea...majoring in exercise science at Berry.
