LAGRANGE, Ga. - A stormy day at Lagrange, Georgia brought for a feisty 1:00 p.m. clash between the Berry Vikings and the Lagrange Panthers. The Vikings were able to end their two-game losing streak and win 3-0 on the road in commanding fashion against the Panthers.
The first half began with high intensity as Cullen Maas received a ball in from Tyler Whitaker, and slotted the ball into the back of the net in the sixth minute, giving the Vikings a 1-0 advantage early on. The rest of the half came with its scrappy moments, but the Vikings seemed to have the upper hand to close out the first half.
Due to unfortunate weather delay circumstances, there was a considerable wait time in the locker room between halves and the game did not resume until 4:45 p.m.
Once the game got back under way, it did not take long for the Vikings to double their lead. Sophomore Daniel Osho received a ball in space, and placed the ball right in Joey Captain's foot to capitalize on the given opportunity. This would mark Captain's fourth goal of the season.
As the half proceeded, the Vikings were able to grab another goal. Maas converted his second of the game and his third of the season, which was assisted by Jaxon Champ. This gave the Vikings an insurmountable lead, leading them to take the final whistle leading 3-0 on the road.
The Vikings next play on the road on Saturday September, 26 at 6:00 p.m. in Atlanta, Georgia against the Emory Eagles.
