ABOUT: From Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Hughes is the daughter of Becky and Hal and sister to Dawson. She is an Animal Science major that enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, and hanging out with her friends. Sophia's favorite superhero is Doctor Strange.

HIGH SCHOOL: The NHS and HOSA member is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School. The former Wildcate placed ninth in shot put her senior year at the state meet and was a Nike Indoor Nationals qualifier. At the indoor state meet she took 6th in the shot and was four-time sectional qualifier in shot and discus.
