ATLANTA, Ga. - The Berry College women's tennis team wrapped up their regular season with a dominant 7-0 win over the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels to clinch their spot in the SAA Championships on Sunday afternoon on the road.

The Vikings got off to a quick start as Sydney Coppola/Charlee Eidson won 6-1 while Paige Evans/Maggie Cox also won 6-1 to clinch the doubles point and give the Vikings an early lead. The first doubles pairing of Sara Mejia/Carolina Hanson also prevailed 6-2 as the Vikings swept all the matches

The Vikings continued to dominate at singles as Mejia won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles. Maggie Cox won at second singles 6-0, 6-0 while Carolina Hanson won at third singles 6-2, 6-1. Paige Evans won at fourth singles 6-0, 6-1 while Eidson  won at fifth singles 6-0, 6-0. Coppola also shut out her opponent at sixth singles as she won 6-0, 6-0 to secure a dominant 7-0 sweep. 

The Vikings advance to the SAA Championships as the sixth seeded and will play the third seed on Friday, April 24 at 2:00 PM. Read Full Article
