Men's Golf Finishes Third at Chick-Fil-A Invitational; Zachok & Seaton Earn All-Tournament Team Honors

| By:

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Berry College men's golf team finished in third place at the 2026 Chick-Fil-A Invitational Tuesday afternoon thanks to stellar outings from freshmen David Zachok and Mason Seaton.

The Vikings shot five-over par across three rounds of competition, trailing only runner-up Randolph-Macon (+4) and champion Covenant (-14).

Zachok led the team with an incredible performance, earning a second place finish individually and being named to the All-Tournament Team with a score of -8. He posted rounds of 69-71-68, carded 14 total birdies, and didn't post a single double bogey on any hole. He was also just one of two golfers to shoot under par in each round of the tournament.

Seaton joined Zachok on the All-Tournament Team by taking home fifth place. He shot one-under par (-1) with rounds of 69-70-76, and was second on the Vikings with 12 total birdies. His strong day one helped him secure a spot in the top five as he shot five-under par with eight birdies and just three bogeys.

Jack Polansky was the final member of the big three to finish inside the top 10, tying for seventh place with a +1. Much like Seaton, he also impressed with a great first day by shooting three-under par and recording 10 birdies in rounds one and two.

Wills Eller and Andrew Sandberg rounded out the Berry A Team. Both freshmen ended tied for 54th place with scores of +15.

The Vikings also fielded a B Team and C Team for the tournament. The B Team finished 13th with a +55 and the C Team finished tied for 15th with a score of +83.

Cooper Goodson shined on the B Team by earning a top 15 finish by shooting five-over par. He carded 11 birdies overall and also an eagle on hole five in round two. His round one was especially impressive as he was the top Viking with a -4 and was tied for second place individually.
