PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Berry College men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Tartan Invitational Tuesday afternoon, finishing in 13th place out of 18 teams.
The Vikings finished with a total team score of +49, finishing ahead of familiar opponents such as Hampden-Sydney (+52), Guilford (+58), and Piedmont (+79).

However, Owen Weber finished just ahead of him with +14, good enough to tie for 48th. He finished with rounds of 80-75-75, carded seven total birdies total, and closed out the tournament strong with an eagle on hole 11 in round three.
The final two Vikings to compete were Mason Seaton and Cooper Goodson. Seaton finished tied for 67th with +21, while Goodson placed 79th with +25.
When asked about the team's performance, head coach Brian Farrer said, "Today was a battle as the winds picked up and the course continued to show its teeth. There were a lot of good shots and decisions that happened today but there were also several times where focus was lost and mistakes were made on top of mistakes. Keeping the mistakes to a minimum are key in big tournaments like this."
Emory won the team championship with a +11, edging out the hosts Carnegie Mellon who finished in second (+15). Carnegie Mellon's B Team tied Kenyon for third place (+23), and Methodist rounded out the top five with a +26.
