LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Berry Baseball team hit the road to LaGrange for a rematch from a few weeks back, falling 8-2.
Jackson Halla got the start on the mound for the Vikings, throwing five innings and allowing eight hits of the Panthers 15 on the game.
Both teams started sluggish this afternoon, with a scoreless first two innings. Three hits in the bottom of the third opened up the scoring for LaGrange. The hits would sponsor them two runs to take an early lead. Berry was unable to answer those runs in the top of the fourth inning with a quick three up, three down.Â
After LaGrange found one more run, Berry finally scored their first on a
Garrett Lang single up the middle to bring
Charles Pulaski across the plate who reached on a single to open up the top of the fifth inning.
The Panthers scored two more runs, one in the bottom of the fifth to answer Berry's and one in the bottom of the sixth to take the 5-1 lead.
Alex Knapp attempted a spark at a comeback with and RBI single in the seventh, but Berry struggled to find their footing and presence on the mound with a few more of the staff taking a chance. LaGrange scored three more runs in the bottom of the seventh before each team was unable to bring anymore across the plate.
The Vikings will return home tomorrow to take on Marietta College at 4:00 PM ET.
