SALEM, OR - The Berry Women's Lacrosse team took to the field in Oregon one last time on their spring break trip, this time taking on Willamette falling 16-5.
Morgan Barton was the leading offensive player for the Vikings, scoring two goals, while three other teammates found the back of the net.
All stat categories were close, but Berry blew out Willamette in Draw Controls winning 21 compared to their opponents 6. It all came down to getting stops. The first period was a tight one that ended with Willamette up by one at 3-2 when Barton notched both of her goals.
In the second, Berry was outscored 4-1 for their opponent to take a larger halftime lead, one they had not really seen so far on their Spring Break trip. Starting goalie
Myskina Bolavong saw much of the game with Willamette sharing the ball well and sneaking goals past.
Unfortunately, offensively the Vikings had trouble getting anything started as they were deterred by goals from Willamette. Any chance they had was answered by the home team.
Berry will return home for a game on Wednesday March 19 at 6:00 PM ET.
