Box Score ROME, Ga. - The Berry College women's tennis team contested Covenant College today at the Rome Tennis Center. After several weeks of winter weather, the ladies were pleased to be outdoors and under the lights as the match was played into the late evening.
Despite Covenant only bringing 6 players, Head Coach
Doug Elly elected to field as many players as possible, and put in 3 new doubles teams that had not seen competition this season. Berry's practice paid off as all 3 teams swept the doubles, with second doubles team

Kylee Craig were just as fast with their start, securing a 6-3 victory.
In order to allow more playtime for all players, the roster was rearranged with several newcomers.
Charlee Eidson played her first official singles match for Berry College at sixth singles, but did not shy away from the pressure with a confident 6-0, 6-0 victory. This was followed by
Paige Evans at fifth singles scoring 6-1, 6-1 and
Sydney Coppola at fourth singles taking the offensive against her opponent with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. The wins continued up the order as
Maggie Cox won decisively 6-0, 6-0 at third singles, but
Carolina Hanson found herself challenged by a fast runner and a consistent player. However, she turned the tide with precise shotmaking and excellent slices, winning 6-3, 7-5.
Olivia Walton at first singles was up against Covenant's star player but managed to break through with grit and patience, winning 6-2, 7-5.
With a 7-0 sweep under their belt, the women will continue the momentum into spring break at Hilton Head where they will expect stiff competition, from Division I to Division III colleges, over the span of a week.
