SAN ANTONIO, Tx. - In a hard-fought contest, the Berry College Vikings faced off against the Trinity University Tigers in a game that ultimately saw Trinity come out on top with a decisive 6-0 victory.
Berry College had its moments going forward, with notable chances created by
Tracy Moon and
Nate Dulin. Moon's attempt that struck the woodwork was a testament to Berry's attacking potential and their ability to break through Trinity's defense. Dulin's powerful shot that narrowly missed the target also highlighted Berry's attacking intent and the quality they possess in front of goal.
However, it was the second half that deterred the Vikings offense and defensive efforts.
Trinity would see three goals within 15-minutes before Berry brought on another goalkeeper,
Ridley Moran to try and save the day. Despite Moran's two saves, three more goals flew past him as the Vikings defense grew tired.
Offensively Berry could only find two shots in the second half compared to the Tigers twelve, as they fell on their road stint to a face they will see in the SAA next season.
Berry Men's Soccer will return home to Pearson Field Wednesday September 11 at 6:00 PM ET to take on the Lions of Piedmont University.
