ST. PAUL, Minn. - Berry Volleyball finalized their tournament in Minnesota against another top ranked team, falling to Cornell 3-1.
The Vikings road trip saw top ranked opponents, building their strength of schedule. Although the outcomes were not what they wanted, Berry managed to take a set against Cornell in today's match.
It was set one that claimed a win for Berry at 25-20 with 16 kills in the set! Senior
Bella Boston led the day again in the kills category with 13 overall.
Berry took set one after three dominating kills from Boston took the lead in the set, one that they would not give back up.
Errors became the name of the game in the remaining three sets for the Vikings and was the ultimate source of their demise in the loss. With 7 errors each in the second and fourth sets and 9 in the third set, the Vikings could not find their way to consistent success.
They still played Cornell tight and only lost by 5 in the final two sets, but they didn't have enough juice to push for a fifth set and mark a win while in Minnesota.
Berry returns to the Cage next weekend as they host the Berry Invitational, a multi-court tournament beginning on Friday. The Vikings will serve at 3 PM ET against Oglethorpe University.
