SEWANEE, Tenn. - In their first SAA matchup of their 2024 campaign, the Vikings and Tigers came to a 1-1 draw.
The first half saw no goals, despite Berry taking eight shots to Sewanee's seven. Vikings goalkeeper Cooper Cherry made a crucial save early, while Sewanee's Sam Harwell kept his team in the game with three saves before halftime.Â
The action picked up in the second half, with Sewanee breaking the deadlock in the 61st minute. Grayson White netted the Tigers first goal putting Sewanee up 1-0. However, Berry responded just seven minutes later. Graduate, Tracy Moon found the back of the net with an assist from Nate Dulin, leveling the score at 1-1.
Both teams continued to press for a winner, but neither could break through the opposing defense. Berry ended the match with 15 shots, seven of which were on target, while Sewanee had 14 shots and four on target. Harwell finished with six saves, while Cherry recorded three for Berry. The teams were also fairly even in possession, with Berry holding a slight 51% edge.
Berry will return to action on Friday at Pearson Field against Centre at 7:00 PM ET.
