Box Score ROME, Ga. - Berry Women's Tennis took down SAA opponent Rhodes in today's Pack the House, 5-4.

Berry College faced a tough conference opponent with Rhodes College who brought their game face on a chilly morning. Rhodes jumped to a strong start winning at second and third doubles versus Saris Mejia / Lacey Craig and Olivia Walton / Angelle Thornton, respectively. However, Lauren Masteller and Juliana Mascagni of Berry College rallied back from a deficit to enter the tiebreak at 7-7, clutching the match 8-7 (7-3) and giving Berry some much needed breathing room to be able to close the gap in the singles.

Lacey Craig at fourth singles jumped to a strong start, winning 6-0, 6-1 and leveling the match score at 2-2. Next came a split of matches with Saris Mejia losing 6-4, 6-4 at third singles despite showing strong resilience, and Olivia Walton winning 6-4, 6-4 at fifth singles with a clinical match, capitalizing on single breaks of serves in each set. Juliana Mascagni maintained her strong form from doubles, winning at second singles 6-3, 6-2 as Angelle Thornton lost 6-4, 6-0 at sixth singles after a strong battle back from being down double break in the first set.

With the match scored tied at 4-4, the pressure came to Lauren Masteller at first singles who had entered a decisive third set. However, having jumped to a 4-1 lead, Lauren was able to maintain her momentum to win 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 to give Berry the 5-4 win over Rhodes College! The women will look to maintain their form against tomorrow's conference match vs. Hendrix College.
