CLEARWATER, Fla. - Berry Women's lacrosse increased their record to 7-2 overall, staying perfect over the Spring Break trip with their dominant defeat over Husson today, 20-6.
This was the first time all season the Vikings were to play back-to-back games in the heat of Florida, but they showed up and completed the Spring Break sweep over the Eagles.
Dani Taraska was a star for the entire first half. She opened the game up with the first two goals for the indefinite lead and scored two goals in the second with a man down.
The team had an amazing showing in the second quarter with nine team goals.
AnnaKate Estock put up four goals on the Eagles all in the 15 minutes of the second to lead the team before halftime.
Before the half, the Vikings had already started a running clock with a 10-point advantage at 12-2.
In the goal,
Ally Washburn claimed the win with three saves and her team causing 27 turnovers as
Mary Axelson led the way with three caused turnovers and six groundballs.
The entire second half played no different for Berry as the Eagles still struggled to score and the clock continued to run.Â
Eight different Viking players scored more than one goal and as a team they totaled eleven assists.
This week, Berry has been extremely consistent sharing the ball and handling business. The team now hits a buy-week and will return to action March 19
th at Shorter.
