CONWAY, Ark. - Berry Baseball was unable to complete the sweep of SAA opponent Hendrix, as the Warriors defeated the Vikings 8-2.
A tough first inning left the Warriors up 2-0 after three hits. Berry tried to even up the playing field in the top of the second with
Levi Cloud leading off with a double and then stealing third,
Andrew Pendleton scored Cloud on a ground out.
The bottom of the third inning started with a walk and that slowly turned into Warrior runs with a double and triple aiding their three runs to take the score to 5-1.
Berry couldn't find a way at the plate, but the pitching staff stepped up and held the Warriors across the next few innings but in the bottom of the 6
th the home team would take the game to 8-1 to stun the Vikings.
Cloud had a good performance at the plate going 3-4, but today Berry could not complete the sweet and only found one more run before the game ended.
The Vikings will be back in action at Covenant on Tuesday, first pitch set for 4:00 PM ET.
