MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - In today's non-conference game, the Vikings boosted their overall record to 15-7 with the defeat over the Scots of Maryville for the second time this year 7-6.
It was
Charles Pulaski who saved the day in the ninth with a walk-off single to score the Vikings final two runs. With runners on second and third with two outs after a Maryville comeback, Pulaski's single was victorious.
Both teams went back and forth all game with what seemed to be a curse of one run an inning for both teams. Berry scored one run from the second to the fifth and the Scots scored one run from the third to the fifth.Â
The Vikings were finally able to take a decent lead in the bottom of the seventh at 5-2 once
Riley Uhls scored
Joey Garcia.
Berry tried to keep fresh arms in at all times on the mound, to still be ready for big conference play this weekend. The Scots saw seven pitchers after
Cam Welsh started the game and pitched across three innings. It was
Mason Snyder who earned the win though with his ninth inning appearance.
Maryville had a big top of the ninth with three runs on two singles to take the lead at 6-5. However, Pulaski crushed the Scots dream and won the game in the bottom of the ninth.
At the plate,
Riley Uhls went 3-3 on the day and Pulaski tallied three RBIs while going 2-4.
This weekend the Vikings head to Birmingham-Southern for SAA play, stay tuned for weather updates and game times.
