Vikings Football Releases 2024 Schedule

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Head coach Tony Kunczewski has released his 2024 slate after a 9-1, 7-1 SAA season last year.

The 2023 NCAA statistical champion in Kickoff Return Average are set with a challenging coming in the 2024 season.

The team will kick-off and open the new year against Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, where the Vikings hold a 2-1 record over the Hawks with a defeat of 67-34 last season.

Berry will then hold their first home game at Valhalla against DePauw on the 14th of September for a midday game beginning at 1:00 PM ET. This will be the first time ever that the two teams have matched up. DePauw went 10-1 last season and had an undefeated conference record at 8-0, winning the NCAC and falling in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship.

The Vikings will continue their home stretch the following weekend against Sewanee to start SAA play. Berry currently holds an eight-game win streak over the Tigers and defeated them last season 61-23.

This year, the team will hit the road to Millsaps on September 28 to take on the Majors who they also hold an eight-game win streak over with a defeat of 64-7 in the 2023 season.

Berry returns home for Mountain Day on the 5th of October against Southwestern. The Vikings defeated the Pirates for the first-time last season, 52-10 in Texas.

The biggest match-up on the schedule for the SAA will take place in San Antonio, Texas, on October 12, when the Tigers and Vikings face off at 2:00 PM ET. Trinity was the only team last season to hand out a loss to Berry at 46-37, in a tight game. This is one of the two teams on the schedule that Berry does not hold the overall record against.

Closing out October, the Vikings take on Centre College at home on the 26th. All-time against the Colonels, Berry has defeated them seven times, including a 49-16 victory last year.

November consists of three tough opponents, Rhodes, Birmingham-Southern, and Hendrix. This year the Vikings will host the Panthers but travel to Memphis and Conway for their respective SAA games. The other team Berry looks to finally tie the overall record against is BSC, where the Vikings are down 5-6 overall but had a huge win last season, holding them to six points.

Head Coach Kunczewski comments on the 2024 slate above:
"We are excited for the challenge the 2024 schedule brings. We will have to be ready to play right out of the gate in the non-conference portion of our schedule.

We play two teams with a combined 18-3 record in 2023. This should prove to be a great test before we open conference play.

This team is highly motivated to improve on last year's results."
