Vikings Bested in Rematch at Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Vikings came up short on Friday night in a rematch against the Huntingdon Hawks by a final score of 68-58.

Senior guard Kenadie Lee set the pace for the Viking offense with a season-high 22 points and nine rebounds.

The Vikings and Hawks were neck and neck in the first quarter, as Lee lit up the scoring column with nine first-quarter points, four of them from the free-throw line.

The Vikings continued to trade baskets with the Hawks and gained a 3-point advantage off an Emma Hempker jump shot with 8:35 left in the second quarter. Berry fell behind by as much as six points in the second period before a 10-3 Viking run, fueled by a Jeryn Jarrett three-pointer put the Vikings back in front. The half concluded with both teams trading baskets, ending in a 2-point deficit going into the break for Berry.

Sylvia Kahoro introduced herself to the Huntingdon defense with seven of the ten Viking third-quarter points. Kahoro's effort propelled the Vikings back even with the Hawks at the end of the quarter.

Berry's shooting cooled down in the fourth quarter, only shooting 5/24 from the field in the final period, allowing the Hawks to build and preserve a 68-58 win.

The Vikings will compete again on December 14 at Agnes Scott College at 2 PM ET.
