ATLANTA, Ga. - The Berry Women's Basketball team traveled up the road to Atlanta this afternoon to defeat the Agnes Scott Scotties 68-51.
The team was led by freshman
Katelyn St. Clair with 11-points, a new career high behind her three triples. Senior
Elly Callihan was behind her with a great stat line of 8 points, 7 rebounds, and two blocks.
To tip-off the game in the first 10-minutes outscoring the Scotties 17-5 set the tone for the rest of the game. With the Vikings starters only playing 13 minutes each, the Berry bench had great success.
The wave of subs coming from Berry put up 44 points on the Scotties to solidify the win for the Vikings. Scoring 22 points off of Agnes turnovers and 30 in the paint, Berry found success quite easily on the away court.
By the halfway point, Berry was up 29-16. Agnes Scott's late three tried to push for momentum but it was never enough to overcome the early start by Berry.
For the game, Berry out rebounded the home team 46-32 but struggled with shooting from behind the arc, only making four (three of those coming from freshman St. Clair in the fourth quarter alone).
Berry is still on an historic run, starting the season 7-2 overall. Their next matchup will be at the St. Pete Classic in Florida when they take on Wisconsin-Stout and North Park December 19-20.
