MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings hit the Cage floor for one final match of the season against Hendrix on senior day, defeating the Warriors 3-1.
Prior to the game, the Vikings honored their 2024 seniors:

The first set was the only one the Viking faltered, in a close 27-25 battle. Berry went up early 8-3, but Hendrix was determined to fight back. Hendrix didn't get the opportunity until they sparked a 7-0 run beginning with their 18th point. Taking the lead at 24-22, the road team now had the momentum and Berry was unable to tame them.
Sets two through four were claimed by the Vikings with
Lura Underwood and
Bella Boston leading the way in attacking with 13 and 11 kills, respectively. In set two, Berry scored in spurts of three and each team posted 15 total kills, but two extra errors for the Warriors but Berry on top at 25-21.
Andrea Hurt had an astounding five aces and Maddie Whitehead trailed with four in key situations to stun Hendrix. Set three had the Vikings largest win margin on the day with a 25-16 win to carry the momentum to the fourth set.Â
The last set was a huge battle, it was not until a 5-0 run nearing the end of the set captured the win for Berry at 25-23.
Lilly Teagle and
Bella Boston were blocking machines in today's match and the Vikings had three key blocks in the fourth, two back-to-back at their 20th point of the set. Laying it all out their as seniors, the Vikings cruised to a home court victory for the final time of the 2024 season.
Berry is back in action on the road at Sewanee next Friday. First serve is set for 7:00 PM ET.
