Box Score The Berry Vikings (3-0, 1-0 SAA) opened Southern Athletic Association conference play with a 49-16 win over Centre College on Saturday in Danville, Ky.

Jake Whitten and Cole Carver came up with a massive sack on a third and nine situation, putting Hembree and company back on the field.
Brandon Cade made the most of the Vikings third drive of the game with a burst through the defense for a 56-yard house call.

The colonels scored their first touchdown of the game as the second quarter opened. But Berry answered right back two minutes later as Lyons and Hembree connected for the second time of the day for a 40-yard touchdown. Neither team found any scoring opportunities until the last minute of the half. With 40 seconds remaining on the clock Hembree found Wilson in the endzone for a 24-yard touchdown pushing their lead to 35-14 heading into the locker room.

The running back duo of Cade and Rogers continued to prove invaluable going into the second half. Cade had back to back 20 yard dashes on the opening drive of the third quarter, but
Josh Rogers ran in his second touchdown of the afternoon for a single yard.

The defense held Centre to a scoreless third quarter and only one first down.
Brock Skinner had a solo sack for a loss of nine yards.

The rushing game continued to dominate the Colonel defense when Cade dashed for a 40-yard touchdown, his second of the game.

Hembree passed for 195 yards going 18-29 on the day, while collecting three touchdowns. Wilson led the team in receiving with 74 yards and six receptions. Whitten led the defense in tackles totalling seven, Skinner followed with six total.

The Vikings will be back at home on Saturday for their biggest test of the season, facing conference foe No.6-ranked Trinity. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Valhalla Stadium.
